Age Verification Policy
Council of Leaf is committed to responsible tobacco retailing. We do not sell cigars or tobacco-related products to anyone under the age of 21. This page explains our age verification practices and your responsibilities as a purchaser.
Minimum Age Requirement
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase from Council of Leaf. This requirement applies to all orders regardless of the shipping destination. By placing an order, you confirm that you are 21 years of age or older.
Adult Signature Upon Delivery
All shipments require an adult signature upon delivery. A person 21 years of age or older must be present to sign for the package. We are unable to leave tobacco shipments unattended. If no adult is available at the time of delivery, the carrier will make additional delivery attempts or hold the package at a local facility for pickup.
State-Specific Requirements
Certain states impose additional age verification requirements beyond our standard policy. In Delaware, for example, state law requires us to collect and store age verification documents before completing a sale. We have partnered with Veratad Age and Identity Verification Solutions to safely and securely process these requirements. This is a one-time process and your information is used solely for compliance purposes.
Carrier Age Verification
Our shipping carriers are instructed to verify the age of the recipient at the time of delivery. The carrier may request a government-issued photo ID confirming the recipient is 21 years of age or older. Failure to provide valid identification will result in the package being returned.
No Sales to Minors
Council of Leaf takes its responsibility to prevent tobacco sales to minors seriously. Any order suspected of being placed on behalf of a minor will be cancelled and refunded. We reserve the right to request additional verification at any time.
